eStruxture Data Centre Manager

The eStruxture Regional Data Centre Manager is a critical operational role to manage day to day operations of our 3 Montreal region customer data centres. The role requires an individual with deep experience in data centre sub- systems and someone committed to process and documentation, continual improvement, transparency and customer focus. The role’s ultimate objective is to provide the highest levels of availability and uptime for data centre systems and eStruxture customers in a rapidly changing, high growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of 3 regional Montreal data centre electrical, mechanical and life safety systems operations
  • Day to day management, monitoring and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical systems such as UPS, RPPs, switchgear, generators, chillers and CRAC units
  • Capacity management tracking and reporting
  • Building Management System operations for monitoring and automation
  • Detailed as-built documentation up-keep
  • Preventative maintenance planning including vendor interaction, work-orders, change management, MOP development
  • Customer installs monitoring/support as needed
  • Track and manage costs such as supplier maintenance agreements and energy use
  • Landlord/base building interaction where applicable
  • Extensive interaction with construction teams on design and build-out/expansion teams
  • Very heavy process/documentation focused
  • Strong leader and communicator
  • Over time, build and manage a small regional team as we scale
  • Participate and support security audit/compliance programs such as SOC 1/2 and PCI
  • Good financial acumen; ensure costs are well managed and supplier prices negotiated to be below market levels wherever possible
  • 24×7 Evenings, overnights and weekend work required
  • Reports to SVP, Operations

Experience

  • Min 10 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of data centre topologies including Uptime Institute tiering and ASHRAE principles
  • Prior work in a highly proceduralized, regimented mission critical facilities environment
  • Knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code and Electrical Safety Authority
  • Computer literate
  • Must be fluent in English and French
