Getting Started with Cloud Connect

It all starts with a port. Once you’ve established a cross-connect and have a port allocated on a NaaS fabric, you can immediately begin ordering and configuring services. Connections are brought up in minutes and provide a fully dedicated path between your port and the destination of your choosing.

With our service, you have the choice to manage all of your own cloud connections or have our team manage them for you.

What is Cloud Connect and how does it work?

Cloud Connect is a private network interconnection service that creates dedicated, secure pathways between your data center infrastructure and cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Through a combination of on-net cloud onramps and onramps we access through our Network-as-a-Service partners, we can connect you to any major cloud region globally at speeds of 50 Mbps to 100 Gbps. 

What is the difference between Cloud Connect and public internet for cloud access?

Cloud Connect provides dedicated, private bandwidth with consistent low latency (<10ms typical), enhanced security by bypassing the public internet, and predictable performance. Public internet connections are shared, subject to congestion, higher latency variability, and increased security risks. 

Which cloud providers can I connect to with eStruxture Cloud Connect?

 eStruxture Cloud Connect supports connections to all major cloud providers, including AWS (via Direct Connect), Microsoft Azure (via ExpressRoute), Google Cloud (via Cloud Interconnect), Oracle Cloud, IBM Cloud, and numerous SaaS providers through our Megaport and Console Connect partnerships. 

How quickly can I provision a Cloud Connect connection?

Once your Cloud Connect port is activated, connections can be provisioned in minutes through the Megaport or Console Connect portal. Short-term contracts allow connections to be spun up for as little as one day. 

What bandwidth options are available for Cloud Connect?

Cloud Connect supports bandwidth from 50Mbps to 100Gbps. Standard connections up to 10Gbps are available at all eStruxture locations. For requirements exceeding 10Gbps, contact our sales team to qualify your specific needs. 

Is Cloud Connect available at all eStruxture data centers?

Yes, Cloud Connect is available across all eStruxture locations in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary through both Megaport and Console Connect NaaS providers.
